French Selection

A selection of the finest French artisan cheeses (1kg) with tasting notes. This selection is packaged in our Cheddar Deli bag or white cartons with straw for protection. Other items can be added to complement your selection.

  • Comté – Considered one of the finest cheeses in the world, a wedge reveals a pale yellow interior and a texture that can vary from silky and smooth to grainy.  (France – cow's milk – unpasteurised)
  • Tomme de Savioe - This is an alpage (high mountain) cheese using morning and evening milk, adding skimmed milk to the fresh full fat milk, with a rind that is both earthy and musty. . (France – cow's milk – unpasteurised)
  • Roquefort - Roquefort is moist and breaks into little pieces easily. It is rich, creamy and sharp, tangy, salty in flavour. It is aged for 5 months. (France – sheep's milk – unpasteurised)
  • St Maure de Touraine - The second most popular goat’s cheese in France. The pate is a creamy white, and at various times throughout the year melts below the rind. Mild and rich. buttery and smooth - dusted with charcoal ash. (France - goat's milk – unpasteurised)
